Great article, great post. Particularly like the fact that mainstream media's failure to follow this story is noted. That failure continued right up to the days when global markets almost crashed.

If it wasn't for commentators like Mish, most people wouldn't have had any idea what was coming.

The sweetheart relationship between Wall Street actors, with key players now in oversight roles continues to this day. Check Geithner, these days: does he get it, yet?

Has use of derivatives declined? Or while taxpayers are bailing out the boat, is Wall Street risking taking on more water?

Does anybody here seriously believe there are any counterparties that can successfully cover defaults on some of the huge CDS being written?
