Strayer Education (Nasdaq) fell 20.64, or 12%, to 150.45. Research firm Off Wall Street said reviews of Department of Education student-loan data indicated enrollment in the college operator's schools may be down as employer reimbursement plans and appetite for student debt become scarcer. Strayer and other higher-education stocks had held up better than most during the past 12 months on the thinking that people return to school during recessions. [WSJ]
