No kidding. It's painful to see. Rep or Dem, newspapers are a bedrock foundation of our local democracies. We lose more than you think if we lose them.

It is a disaster for the country.

Even though they had basically become rubber stamps for socialists, there WERE some amongst them who could provide a check on government.

While they failed miserably during the last election, I'm sure they would have had an epiphany at some point. It hasn't been that long since newspapers were not consistently in the tank for the liberals.

I will be delighted when the NYT fails, however, as it is nothing more than a mouthpiece for liberals and has been a destructive force in our nation for years. I look forward to their demise. But the NYT is an exception.
