You have to start somewhere. I for one am not enamoured with the lack of transparency of the bailouts to date. The ML bonuses were nothing less than pillage of Main Street, and signalled just more of the same collusion between Wall St (i.e. the MBA's out of the northeastern schools) and Obama's government to many including me.

This Obama stance is small in monetary terms, but absolutely essential in spiritual terms. The raping and pillaging of Main Street America By colluding government and Wall St. has to stop if the current jouney down the road to chaos is to be challenged.

No a success by Obama at this juncture would be anything but magnanimous in monetary terms, but may be the very "straw" that breaks this out of control financial system and its entitlement baggage, setting the stage for a new and better (and certianly less corrupt) way.

Main Street's perception that Government and Wall St have an invisible pact to pass all toxic costs to Main Street while still lining the pockets of legislators and bankers must be "detoxified" before any progress can be made.

Obama success with AIG bonuses is but "one small step for Joe taxpayer, but one giant step for Main Street".
