A wise man in the financial world told me that nothing really gets done until you can put a face on the problem. Bernie Madoff is such a face and now AIG has clearly become the "face" of the bonus/bailout fiasco. When the face is establishedk, the public gets it on a basic level and then action can (must) be taken.

This will make it easier for regulation...hopefully smart, focused regulation and not slingshot response stuff.
