The article says the Ft Rucker Provost Marshall accompanied the MPs. Ft Rucker is not a small base. It is still the Army Aviation Center. My guess would be The Provost Marshall is a Lieutenant Colonel. He definitely should know his limitations. I am not saying there was no wrongdoing. I am saying some laws regarding the use of MPs and other military units have changed since 9/11 and I am not familiar with all of the changes. I have a hard time believing an MP LTC would step into a Posse Comitatus Act violation. We need more info.
