What this guys doesn't tell you is that the mass transit system has been build primarily in the last 15 years He doesn't have to tell you that because its not relevant. He's not examining the history of LA transportation, but its reality today. It is relevant because the freeways were at capacity before the rails were built. As for driving on city streets, well yes they do that do, but as he showed the total miles driven per capita is only 21st out of the 27 largest cities in the US. Sounds great....except he doesn't tell you that traveling on city streets in LA is like driving in slow motion. It takes forever to go even a mile. The guy is trying to paint a rosy picture of a city in a transit disaster. That's my greatest objection to the article.
