If gov't follows their lead like what happened under Hoover, more jobs will be lost. 1st of all government didn't retrench under Hoover it expanded, in fact FDR campaigned against Hoover's reckless spending (before then proceeding to spend even more) My understanding of what Hoover did is just the opposite of yours: "Remember, Herbert Hoover didn’t have a problem making unpleasant decisions: he had the courage and toughness to slash spending and raise taxes in the face of the Great Depression. Unfortunately, that just made things worse." feeblog.org Secondly I'm not proposing shrinking government spending now, just avoiding the vast expansions which Obama wants. Where is Obama proposing to vastly expand the gov't?
