And for those of you who may still be interested in something called "Ramtron"... I hope yesterday's "warning" clarifies the ultimate reason that no one inside or outside this company is going to see any take over interest in the foreseeable future.

Ramtron has a great product... but, too sadly, a real stinker market and no "blessings" from the Gods Of High Tech at L'Intel. As a result they must make their credibility and money the old fashioned way, and no one is going to assume the risk of success for such a pitiful market until and unless it (or one of its licensees) does so. Well... I mean... no one but us. <ack><ack><pHooie>

In the end, my uneducated view of their respective patents suggests that neither Symmetrix, nor Ramtron will ever be worth nearly as much individually as they would be together.

But in any case neither of them appears to have controlling patents in the area of "quantum dot" or CNT ferroelectric process design or manufacture, and it is entirely possible that the market for ferroelectric IP may never break out of its current earnings niche until and unless such developments become practical options.
