Cary, Ian, and All:

Here is a quote from the CNNfn market wrap-up.

"Other technology stocks that took a beating Friday included Intel (INTC), down 1-7/8 at 80, after the company said it would postpone the opening of a $1.3 billion Texas semiconductor plant. Intel said a decline in demand for "flash" memory chips was the reason behind the delay. The plant is now expected to open in late 2000."

How long did INTC postpone the opening of the semiconductor lab? It seems like a long delay just because there was " a decline in demand for "flash" memory chips." Does INTC see the demand in chips to be low for 2 to 3 years? Or is there some reason for the delay other than that stated?

Thanks for your input,

I2
