*Why don't public/private insurance companies pay for (active) health club memberships? It's almost certain that people who regularly use a health club will require far less in costly medical treatments, and health club memberships are cheap (especially if bought wholesale). You would think it would be a net profit generator for the insurance companies.

*One method might be for the insurance companies to charge everyone, if they exercise or not, the same premium. But then give rebates for exercising... essentially 'pay people' to exercise. Psychologically that might work for a lot of people.

Believe it or not, my insurance company does. I have had this benefit for a year, I didn't even know about it, until I juat read the fine print.

The insurance company will reimburse me $200 per 6 months of gym membership. The catch is that I would actually have to go. They give you a log that you need to have signed at the gym. You need to accumulate 50 visits per 6 months to get the $200.

The problem is that exercise buys you only so much. IMO, exercise is 20%, nutrition is 80%.
