She needed a $50-$100 HELMET. Plus, she didn't think anything was wrong. Freak accident but a boon for HELMETS. "Richardson's initial refusal of medical treatment cost her two hours" That and a lack of a HELMET did it. Goodness gracious, now I know why the medical system is so bloated when you right wingers get a chance to putz around with it. I want a $50-$100 HELMET and you want a MEDICAL HELICOPTER? Can you possibly think for yourself...just a bit...once in awhile? ------------------ Health Buzz: Medical Helicopter Safety and Other Health News Posted February 3, 2009 NTSB Holds Hearing to Evaluate Medical Helicopter Safety The National Transportation Safety Board is holding the first of four days of public hearings in Washington, D.C., today, focusing on how to curb the rise in medical helicopter accidents. The NTSB investigated nine fatal accidents involving medical helicopters during the past 12 months; 35 people were killed in all. "We have seen an alarming rise in the numbers of EMS accidents, and the Safety Board believes some of these accidents could have been prevented if our recommendations had been implemented," said Robert Sumwalt, chairman of the NTSB hearing's board of inquiry, in a prepared statement. "This hearing will be extremely important because it can provide an opportunity to learn more about the industry so that possibly we can make further recommendations that can prevent these accidents and save lives."
