This is bad.

This is the same thing that the Democrats wanted in Virginia ---National Service. At that time, when Chuck Robb ran for Governor, it was a way of avoiding the draft as we still had the anti-Vietnam fervor in the air.

It did not get through the Virginia General Assembly.

The good thing about America is the volunteer spirit that has existed that needs no government to organize.

This is an effort to control the concept of volunteering----to put any form of volunteering under governement control.

Will Obama's government forbid our churches and synagogues to continue their volunteer work? Unless it is under the auspices of the Obama Socialists----very likely.

This needs to be tromped on rapidly. This is just another layer of government that will eventually cost another trillion.

"The vote yesterday came on H.R. 1388, which reauthorizes through 2014 the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, acts that originally, among other programs, funded the AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps."

Who in the heck is the National Senior Service Corps------what authority have they been given? The same for the AmeriCorps.
