This process got so out of whack that the traders of the CDS's could be writing and trading positions potential several times with no live time controls on where the counterparty risk was on the other end and also if too large of a Credit Line had been extended to another Bank, Hedge fund etc.

I thought CDS's were created at JPM back in 1997. Blythe Masters, right?:

Was there something similar that existed previously?

As for a website that would shine some clarity on the issue, how it came about, and a potential resolution, that would be excellent!!

PS: Dad's doing fine.. Still in ICU, but stabilizing as of last report.
