Oh, nonsense! We export more goods and services now than we ever did in the history of the country.

OK, I suppose those enormous trade deficits sucking up our dollars and sending them to Asia to pay for the goods you buy at WalMart for a pittance somehow don't matter. Don't forget that these are markers the Asians have on our economy.

Yes, we export, but we import a whole lot more than we export.

We have exported a lot of dollars to pay for the insane and unsustainable binge of consumption we have been on which has been fueled by using a home as an ATM. The premise was that homes always rise in value. Well, they don't, as we now know.

Party's over. Hangover time.

Globalization helped everyone but the American people. Jobs got exported, corporations got fat and foreigners did very well because of their labor advantage. Joe Six Pack got screwed. His legacy is no jobs but piles and piles of debt. And a lot of cheap junk from WalMart.
