If you had watched the hearings where Edward Liddy testified, you'd know that the 'bonuses' paid were contracted for the purpose of closing out the product line the executives who received them were responsible for, and that those executives are now gone.

Liddy himself, the current CEO, came out of retirement six months ago with no AIG background, working for $1 a year to clean up the mess and get the company back on its feet.

He is a complete no-BS hero, in my opinion.

It's very unfair and untrue to say that the 'current scum' in AIG created the financial collapse. There may be some still in place still performing the task of closing out their product line, but then they will probably be gone too.
