NHAYNES.............................................. = peace : Glitter : Take a Day Off!

Oh how right on this is.

My great grandchildren were here yesterday and the oldest boy found the globe of a mountain, a train going through the mountain tunnel that played a musical tune and snow flowed through it all and brought it in to where I was visiting with their Mom and the youngest great grandchild. I showed him how it worked and we all saw the snow swirling around the mountain and listened to the tune. I then told him he could take it back to where he found it and he did; however, when he tried to return it to the table it slipped out of his little hands, broke and it was a mess to behold. He kept saying "I'm sorry GiGi" and I told him not to worry I would clean it up and it was an old souvenir and wasn't that important anyhow. He calmed down and ran to the kitchen to bring me some hand towels along with paper towels to wipe up the table and floor. The snow in it also looked like glitter and went all over the floor and a small rug by it. When it is well dried, the vacuum cleaner will be brought out to vacuum all that glitter.

My grandson, father of the group, arrived from playing golf with his Granddad and took a look and said, "I'm so sorry about this accident" and I told him that is what happens with all kids at one time or another and it's just another piece we don't have to dust any longer. I'm just happy he didn't hurt his little hands. Our home is wall to wall collectibles and the valuable ones are kept higher just for this reason. But, our home is certainly not now child proofed and most times the grandchildren want to go up to the attic to look for toys that belonged to their parents or to play on the exercise equipment we have up there. Yesterday was different and if I remember correctly it was a gift from a casino we went to some fifteen years ago one December and come to think of it I don't know why I have kept it this long. Thinking maybe spring cleaning should begin soon and pack up a lot of things to really cut the dusting down. I know my housekeeper would love that! With my own children I can remember worse things they did than this. Another story sometimes about what an older son did when we moved into our second new home, or maybe I have already told it.

I most certainly am taking today off! My better half is out again playing golf with same grandson, while I am enjoying the peace and quiet around here playing with my computer without any interruptions.....<gg>
