Poet, i hope i'm wrong, but i think it is a silly bet. not based on hope or hope or a desire to see him fail, rather, based upon his actions to date.

1. he's funneling money to the oligarchy at a fast and furious pace... not any slower than i would've expected from bush.

2. it was his treasury that enabled AIG to collect $55 million in bonuses, then $165 million in bonuses and then another $250 million in bonuses. treasury had no problem with these bonuses until it became a populist issue. if they had a problem, they wouldn't included the tax language up front and avoided this furor and embarrassment for obama - who, btw, not only doesn't want to be transparent on this issue, he doesn't want to discuss it at all.

3. lobbyists are all over obama's administration - from defense to treasury.

4. transparency was little more than a slogan - obama doesn't tell you what you don't want to know.

5. O still wants to spend tons on military, he just wants to change the geographical area to burn the cash and enrich the military industrial complex.

6. gitmo is still up and running with no final determination to shut it down.

7. on the most important issue of our time, obama broke his campaign promise to make legislation available for public scrutiny for 5 days prior to signing - that makes him a liar to all but those who chose to live in la la land.

8. obama promised not to sign legislation that contained earmarks, but he just knowingly signed off on $8 billion in earmarks - and it didn't strike me like he was concerned at all.

9. when he was lying to detroit unemployed workers about undoing NAFTA to help create jobs in the USA, he was calling Canada and telling them he was just lying to get elected - uh, i mean, he was just campaigning and wouldn't really do it.

hope is worthless without positive action. con men play on hope. madoff played on hope. i observe obama's actions and he's nothing more than a talented politician who is enriching those who have and will enrich himself.

you are right about obama being our last hope... and he plays to that using people liek you to use this crisis to achieve his big government goals of government in everything we do... rahm emmanuel said as much.

summers as economic advisor? geithner as treasury secretary? those aren't mistakes, they are agenda driven appointments.

his agenda isn't what you think it is - and it is obvious by what he does, not what he says.
