hi rose, my sincere attitude is that it is far better we, this generation who supposedly benefited the most, meaning, arguably, we who collectively sinned the most, take the harsh hit, than our next generation, meaning the innocents take the hit.

we are better able to, because we should, ought to, better, know more and so can navigate, as well as we must, the coming dark interregnum ("DI").

our kids, and mine at just 4, had nothing to do with any of what is unfolding, cannot know anything even if they are of any age under 25, is simply not set up to navigate what can well be the darkest of DI.

so, as far as we ought to be concerned, bring it all on, now, without delay, and let us get this over and done with, so the next generation can get on with their lives without burden of the foolishness of the sub-prime evil that is cb ilaine and the rot that is maurice mq.

i was able to get much of my extended family out of the arena in good time, though some had suffered small hits here and there, but nothing fatal. stress testing the portfolios before they followed my advice indicates that some of them would have been (i) halved or worse by portfolio, and (ii) siting on no longer liquid and certainly 30% less valuable real estate. that outcome would have been difficult for the folks in their 70s.

instead, for all relations, they are OK, and for one, actually up on 2008 and nav at peak value, now sitting in gold and cash, asked by the accountant, "how did you know?"

i have my doubts that most 35 years old and under, and 65 years old and over, and, for that matter, those between 36 and 64 inclusive, will make it to the other side of DI, for saboteurs are on our ship, the enemy is firing at us from the approach shore, closing in on us from behind on hydrofoil battle cruisers, and intercepting us by submarines.

as far as i am concerned, there is at least another 50% drubbing to go, and to be made worse by government counteraction, after which, a long and false recovery, until the true crisis that should happen when team usa goes down for the final count, all within 15-20 years, which is not a long time, and then, the planet goes tilt, elapsed time of the then darkest interregnum determined by the timing of arrival of the new sovereign.

the odds are against us. but, by all analysis, let us get it over with, and soon. i fear it will be neither pleasant nor soon.

the script has worked so far, and i have no particular reason to reconsider any of the broad strokes. none.

cheers, j

p.s. what i am saying is that i do not believe we are in the definitive crisis yet. i could be wrong, and even if i am, the counteractions called for would be no different.
