I'm also impressed by your keyboard explanation. As a former BIOS QA engineer who qualified the operation of the keyboard BIOS, I can testify to the accuracy of your explanation. I'm especially impressed because you're a former process engineer, not a software engineer. I've found most people to be narrowly focused on their own specialty and someone who is knowledgable in many different areas is rare and valuable.
