i am done with heated discussions about the efficacies of gold during the once-in-5-generations lesson and once-every-life-time opportunity, so i will keep it light

<<... So food is the #1 and gold is number #2 because you can't eat it ...>>

- you are of course not serious

- one could claim air is #1, water #2, food #3 ... sex, power, ... and gold is # n+1

- but one would be wrong by such a claim in so far as certain monetary parachutes, assured financial resets, dependable economic deep keeps, right-on budget backstops, and flexible savings mechanisms are concerned

- because gold is money, and not much else, even if only to the initiated, but no matter, because the uninitiated will mostly perish.

gold, if not as money, is otherwise not very useful (i.e. dollar is a sort of money, and is otherwise not very useful, not even as toilet paper because it is not absorbent enough, is too small in coverage area, handled too much by infected hands of strangers, and does not come in rolls)

besides, gold seems to do more than ok against the usual food items (unless you strangely favor minus 40% to plus 20% or eat food i am not familiar with)

and, as far as gold as food is concerned, i recommend it, for it is shinny, highlights whatever it is mixed into, certainly a mineral, very noble, good for the holidays, and probably mighty good as roughage, particularly good with starbucks sourced from america and mixed in with flakes from japan, for balancing trade, boosting consumption, leveraging up the economy, and making a mess in the microwave when heating up coffee
