[GTE Delay] Pat... I too was curious of the GTE delay in the CLEC announcement. We have to remember that WAS the reason for the briefing. So you have to wonder ...why the delay in a GTE CLEC "tip of the hand"? * Is it becuase of the merger possibilities would prevent or present other variables in announcing CLEC activities...? * If you're GTE..trying to get a major merger approved. Would you roll-out a major CLEC announcment for the competition to run to the FCC and say "look at this"...don't approve. I tend to think Chuck Lee said .."let's not shoot ourselves"...let get a GTE merger approved first. The downside is...how long this could take. I certainly don't know the reason...but I tend to think it's more of the above....why else would they need "sometime in '98" for a CLEC/ADSL announcment..? Once the dust settles on their future direction we should see something...and I'm guessing sooner rather than Q2 '98. Just some thoughts.. Bob
