within the taliban, there are differences between the crazies and the less crazy. Crazies are the ones who thought we were a paper tiger and allowed bin laden to attack us from their soil. They are the ones who blew up the Hindu sculptures and stoned women just for the hell of it. There are folks within the general description of taliban who would be happy to look for a third way. But a prereq for that would be the ultimate departure of foreign troops. We can not have an open ended committment in afganistan and expect to win.
