Hawkeye I think they are cool and true I have never been where I was in any real danger from the devastation caused by one, 1989 Bay Bridge World Series earthquake for instance. I lived through that but wasn't in any danger it lasted the longest and was the strongest I've felt. My wife to be and I were in Italy in 1986 near Florence and during the night a good one hit, not sure of the magnitude but a pretty good shake. The adjoining room with 2 GI's, one of them got hysterical for a bit before he calmed down, that cracked me up. They are a brief most of the time and kind of just give the soul a little stir.
