There a few regional banks who have stuck to their knitting who continue to prosper and these are the banks that should be rewarded for performance during these trying financial times.

For some (seamy) reason, the Fed and its policy makers are taking exactly the opposite track and rewarding the failing banks counter to anything that makes intuitive sense.

Totally misguided policy when money flows to those that have failed when they have chosen to opt out of the regulated scope of financial legislation. No way should these pikers be rewarded for operating outside the regulatory arena.

If AIG and Morgan Stanley choose to operate outside the regulated arena, they, and they alone should be called on to absorb the entire weight of their misguided management!

It is the height of hypocrisy for these pikers to come crawling to the Fed, who should but aren't protecting Main Street's interests, for $$$trillions in hand outs.

A real democratic government would tell these abysmally failing enterprises to take a hike. A real democratic government would reward those regional banks that have operated within the scope of regulatory law by transferring any worthwhile assets from the failed AIG's and Morgan Stanley's of the world to these well managed regionals.
