What makes you think employers are in the middle of the payment system?

Um, employer provided health insurance. Heard of it?

While it may be true that a single government payer will "reduce" costs, when you cut costs on the backs of health care providers you do not do yourself any favors. It merely kills the quality of health care.

I think you are about the only one here who supports the status quo with regard to current costs. And it just won't work given the demographics, regardless of single payer or some partnership of government/private insurance or the current system.

We HAVE TO cut cost, period. Or with the boomers hitting their 60's-70's-80's the total cost will suck the economy dry.

So you tell me....
