Hasn't the energy problem already been solved? Well...maybe not, but the government has been working on a government solution for a long time.

The Department of Energy was established on August 4, 1977. The 1973 energy crisis prompted then President Jimmy Carter to create the department. The reason for the Department of Energy was to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
