We left Bakersfield in '55, the year it opened. Our folks took us there before we left.
Last time I went was '81, when we had a convention there. Surreal; it was foggy, and walking towards the Haunted House, seeing it pop out of the mist,...:>)

Went to Disneyworld a few times with the kids, while visiting their grandmother in Orlando. It felt like a plastic version of ours. I can't explain it, but it just didn't feel right. It was like the steel and concrete in Cal had been replaced by plastic.
