Fundamentally, US just defaulted on sovereign debt, which is extremely bearish for every asset but gold. G20 will discuss moving away from USD as reserve currency. US has been "too big to fail" country supported by global savings. It is quite likely that quantitative easing will be accompanied by larger foreign selling, neutralizing the effect of that policy action.
