As part of the agreement, NLM will use A.D.A.M.’s Multimedia Encyclopedia to enhance the health content on its MedlinePlus web site, an award-winning, free resource that brings together authoritative health information from the NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other public agencies, and respected private health-related organizations.
With more than 130 million unique visitors per year, MedlinePlus provides health information seekers access to leading health content, including drugs and supplements, a medical encyclopedia, and a medical dictionary. The site also provides national and local directories of health systems/hospitals/clinics/dentists, as well as interactive patient tutorials, and the latest health news. A.D.A.M.’s Multimedia Encyclopedia will provide MedlinePlus health information seekers with even more interesting, visually rich health content in a comprehensive and easy-to-navigate format with more than 80 streaming media animations. |
