Here's the real story on the deficits that Obama has inherited from Bush, for anyone that is interested in facts, not spin...

The bailouts so far, since the economy started tanking, have cost the following amounts:

TOTAL

Allocated = $12.7 trillion
Spent = $2.7 trillion

Dec 2007-Jan 2009..during Bush's Tenure

Allocated = $11.4 trillion
Spent = $2.6 trillion

Feb 2009-Present..during Obama's Tenure

Allocated = $1.3 trillion
Spent = $0.1 trillion

Notice the Spent number. That plus Bush's last budget put the US government on a runrate of spending that left Obama with massive inherited deficits and debt. Turning that ship around is one hell of a tough job. It's simply dishonest to blame this mess on Obama, when Bush and Paulson and the GOP were behind the bulk of the spending today and Obama's plan is focused on reducing the inherited deficits, while simultaneously rescuing our economy.
