But that's THE FED... not congress and the president. That wasn't the topic at hand. They both say let the banks fail if I'm not mistaken.

Further, Krugman then turns around and want the FED to "put things on steroids"... which according to Bernanke means buy geverment, corperate paper, Real Estate, and anything else on the market. That's my whole point... I'ts not clear that his plan is THAT different. It depends on Bernanke.
