Deficit projections are projections, which may or may not be accurate, but given that the annual cost of the Iraq war is MUCH less than liberals usually think it is, it doesn't make much of a material difference.

Actually, Ten I think you are the one who is confused. For example, deficits eventually become real numbers, not just projections. By running the war expenses outside the budget, Bush was able to make his deficits look less than what they ended up being. It was a not so clever sleight of hand. However, the Dems were powerless to stop it because they did not control Congress.

Now if you really want to talk about something that is "off the budget," we could talk about Social Security. But I can understand if you want to accuse me of "changing the subject," because the truth is that you'd rather remain in your selective ignorance.

Yes, I can understand how you would want to switch subjects at this point.
