If we look at the US economy like system, then one development the system cries out for is a collapse of the currency and a debt jubilee. The debt jubilee will teach our creditors a stern lesson about lending us too much money again, in the future. It will also remove once and for all the post-war Dollar advantage which became a curse, because the Dollar advantage was the mechanism to build up the excess credit and to keep giving the US a free pass.

The currency collapse would also be "rejuvinating" as it would dislocate a whole bunch of prices and wages which got all out of whack over the past few decades. A final phase of the crisis, with a currency collapse, would also bring forth a new political structure and imo a robust rebirth of free markets. Hopefully based on merit.

Just about everyone in a leadership position needs to be cleared out. The business leaders, the academics, the politicians, and the media people. They are all deeply unimpressive and could be replaced with higher quality people at an initial lower cost.

I know this sounds radical. However, I believe it's the crisis--not me so much--that frankly wants such an outcome. If we look at history, just seems like that's always the case. It's not that we in the US did anything "wrong" in special way so much as we simply repeated the mistakes that have been made a zillion times before, by other nations, peoples.

The big wheel of history is turning!
