Is CyberMedia Toast & QuaterDeck the King (and no body knows it?)

I'll let you know......

I would consider myself a power PC user......nothing about them really scares me except lightning storms......In fact I've built my last 2 'Boxes' becuase I perfer the modular aproach when dealing with this rapidly expanding technology.

Over the years......going back to 1978.....before PC's as we know them....I've always fiddled with these machines...to get the most out of them..SO GOOD UTILITY SOFTWARE.....CleanSweep & Fix it & Tune Up type programs are very important to me........because I can Screw up my PC more in a week with my fiddling than most people can conceive of doing in a lifetime.

The Test..............I purchased compariable QuaterDeck Programs from Cybermedia about 3 months back and let these Programs; UnInstaller(soap box), First Aid & Oil Change have full run & control over my fiddling.

I'm here to report the Short comming of CyberMedia First....I'll report on the others as I repair the damage that these 3 Cybermedia products have done to my Windows 95 Registry.......which for most would be a total 'Crap Out' of their System & a Reinstall of all software......pretty close to a 'Format & Start Over'
senerio.

The problems first started with the UnInstaller----Move Option.....I'm running a duel drive system (C & D) with an E: Drive CD.......Just recently I moved the Cybermedia programs from my C: Drive to D: Drive;

I moved Oil Change & First Aid both to new locations on D: Summary;

They will still Launch but they have absolutely know idea on Earth where they are......they keep looking back to where they use to be on the C: Drive....so they have been rendered TOTALLY USLESS by a Companion CyberMedia Product UnInstaller........and to make matters worse UnInstaller...still thinks that they are there too.....so It won't move them back.

I'm not even gonna bother calling their support department.....because I probably know more about how to solve the problem then they could possibly tell me over the Phone...................Keep in mind the Entire System was updated consistently thru Oil Change to keep everthing on my system running smothly...with my last downloading & update activity done Friday Night.....Everything was CURRENT....EVERYTHING.

Just Down Loaded CyberMedia's Trial Version of Fix-It...30 Day Trail Period.

On the first pass it found....................113 Application Conflicts.....0 Hardware Conflicts....and I've got 8 more Buttons to go.........I'll keep you posted.

BUT I WILL SAY THIS IF YOU'RE USING CYBERMEDIA PRODUCTS THINKING YOUR SYSTEM IS SAFE............THINK AGAIN.

I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED.
