There is an air park just north of where I live. It's been there for years. It has a single runway, bordered by several dozen nice homes, each with a hangar for their private plane. I can't see much reason for that other than the convenience. I doubt any of these folks actually "fly" to work each day. It's a pretty expensive hobby... but, many hobbies are expensive.
