I stated that "With our higher cost of living which includes all of our social costs, we simply can't compete in the big picture with the emerging countries that don't have these costs. That's simply a fact of life in the 21st century. Increased unionization in the United States will not change this fact."

You responded with "the need for a high level intense intellectual social and economic honest diolgue", not even addressing the issue that I was discussing. I simply stated that your response was a non sequitur which is defined in Wikipedia as "a comment which, due to its lack of meaning relative to the comment it follows, is absurd to the point of being humorous or confusing." That pretty much nails it - no need to call it silly name calling.
