JKNF, the PUG script says the "Effective Date" should be no later than Oct.31, 1997. The subsequent posting for trade date of 'PGM' would then be... ? We'll see! :)
I see the amalgamation news hyperlink I posted earlier is now dead.

For Jadrew, re. his last post: you make some good points. Well-written! One point you touched on was the day-trader effect. I would like to expand a little bit on this. I think it is something we should all be on the look out for, at both ends of the arena, ie, for both positive and negative shareprice efforts. I've a feeling that in this era of instant access to much more extensive trading data, and OnLine-trading capabilities, this is becoming more and more common.

Further, once something is typed to a thread, again -ive or +ive, it remains there long after the means has passed. Although each little negative comment may not in and of itself affect the long-term price/performance of a stock, I think that collectively, damage can be done. This can be good or bad, depending on the information's truthfulness. All truth is good, of course, regardless of how it affects a stock's price.

I agree with most everything you said, but I do feel that we should not completely dismiss the potential here to 'collectively' affect a stock's eventual price performance. It can be a factor, even if only to a small degree.

Note my bias toward the 'negative' effect that can de done. This is because I believe we all know and have experienced how easily a stock's price can fall. We also know there are many more loser stocks than winners. Therefore I believe it's much easier to willfully knock down a shareprice than push it up. ;)
