(I think --- because of leverage --- that the world's economies, including ours, are SO MUCH LARGER NOW that if we were to try to 'back' these fiat currencies with something like gold, gold would probably have to be priced several thousand percent higher then it is now to pull that off....)

Ain't gonna happen, the horse has been out of the barn for too long now (and fathered a couple of 'horse herds' already <g>).

Too big to put back in the barn (at least, with just gold as the backing....)
