He he.

You won’t find too many defenders of George W. Bush’s record on spending these days

Funny, you would have found 90% of ignoramuses supporting his profligate spending a few years ago.

Funny how all those people conveniently forgot how stupid they were and are now claiming to be smart.

The current administration would kill to have such small numbers.

Yep. The barn door was left open and the cows are long, LONG gone.

The new owners are to blame, in the eyes of the same 90% who thought Bush was doin' such a bang up job.

I'm dubious that Obama's plans can do anything about the national rip off, but he's not to blame for it, and he has to do something.

The barn door should have been locked, as far back as when Eisenhower warned us not to leave it open. Same 90% weren't listening then either, and probably never will.

Clinton-era surplus

Just to put the record straight, I've always disputed the contention Clinton was responsible for the surplus or the roaring economy. I would give some credit to Carter and some to the rise of computers. Low energy prices and increased efficiencies led to higher profits and the roaring 90s, not Clinton. Clinton allowed the auto companies to do an end run around fuel conservation which led to... an abrupt doubling fuel prices in the last few months of his administration followed one month later... SHOCK!... by the stock crash.

One more thing...

I also predicted that Obama would not get us out of Iraq or Afghanistan. Like Colin Powell warned "We broke it now we own it."
