It seems like about 90% of the shorts discussed here are NASD stocks. Do you or anyone else ever take a stab at shorting some of the larger caps on the NYSE?

I would like to second this. I got burned by shorting on the NASD because of the massive manipulation that goes on there. Obviously, there's less chance of finding a completely worthless stock on the NYSE, but Zitel was worthless and ran from 5 to 70.

I'd also be interested in finding comparable stocks with similar market caps but different P/E's and shorting one/buying the other.
I'm dying to do Microsoft/IBM (how can anyone think that 2.5 billion earnings is worth 60% more than 6 billion earnings!), but I keep getting warned away by friends of mine. So any others?
