Harris Stratex Networks Appoints Michael Pangia as Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer

Former Nortel senior vice president will lead global sales and services teams to drive global expansion and operational excellence

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTX), a leading specialist in innovative backhaul solutions for mobility and broadband networks, today announced that Michael Pangia has joined the company as senior vice president and chief sales officer.

Before joining Harris Stratex, Mr. Pangia spent more than 20 years at Nortel in various senior level management positions. Most recently he served as senior vice president of Global Sales Operations and Strategy, where he led a global business transformation plan to streamline the sales organization.

In addition, he served as president of Nortel's Asia region, where he was responsible for the overall sales strategy and operations for the region, and was responsible for uniquely positioning Nortel as a leader in end-to-end solutions. During his tenure in Asia, the region increased its contribution to the company's overall revenue performance from 14 to more than 20 percent and consistently exceeded key financial metrics on a quarter-to-quarter basis. He also served as chief operating officer for Asia Pacific, vice president for Global Enterprise Operations and Services, and vice president of finance for the Optical business unit.

Earlier in his Nortel career, Mr. Pangia held a number of management positions in operations and finance in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Mr. Pangia earned a master's degree of business administration from the University of Toronto and a bachelor's degree of commerce from the University of Windsor.
