Huge increases in trading volume since 2007 That is because the computer software they have has been designed to send 100 lot share transactions ping ponging back and forth. MMs are being paid by the transaction and the more transactions, the more they get paid. New rules need to be written to change this. Why should the MM make more money by selling 10, 100 share lots versus 1, 1000 share lot? Its all part the scam being run the by the entrenched interests on Wall Street. Who was crying the loudest about changes in the rules for shorts? Madoff! Who claimed that the MMs needed to keep their exemptions from the short rules? Madoff. The Barrons article is just more of the same BS, designed to keep the smoke level high and the light shining to a minimum. We need more light and less smoke!! jmo TO
