Is there is a disconnect with how our government treats GM and how we treat a very troubled big Wall Street firm like Citibank...?? Citi has received more than 3 times as much direct aid as GM (and Citi gets an agreement for taxpayers to backstop well over a $100 Billion in toxic assets)...Citi still has their CEO...Citi still has several of their private jets...Hmmm...Wall Street gets preferred treatment and almost always gets the benefit of the doubt -- that's how Mainstreet sees things.
