Ted, Lost tax revenue in aftermath of Dot Com bubble was not limited to capital gains tax revenue, and it was not limited to losses of market caps of technology companies. Non-technology companies were affected as well, and not just in terms of their market cap. In revenues as well. Revenue on one side of P/L statement correspond to (mostly) labor costs, meaning paychecks, and tax witholdings from those paychecks. Joe
