Sarah Palin's Approval Index The Approval Index is a simple subtraction of "Very Negative" from "Very Positive".
So for example, if Sarah Palin had a 56% Very Positive rating in August of 2007 among Alaskans, and a 1% "Very Negative" rating, then her approval index would be 55.
Guess what her approval index is now?
35% "Very Positive" - 21% "Very Negative" = 14.
There's a trend at work here, as well. Chronologically: 55, 52, 46, 39, 26, 21, 14.
Now it doesn't take Bernhard Riemann to see what's going on here. At the same time, Bernhard Reimann alone isn't enough. Palin's been subjected to a series of tightly-packed, icy snow balls, as of late.
But a 55 to 14 slide? That's a balmy day turned into a freeze fest.
