Carbon Energy (Australian UCG company) looks like it is switching to Cougar Energy's strategy - use the syngas for power generation, the simplest and most straightforward use. Don't mess around with multi billion dollar GTL plants.

Carbon just made a deal with Eneabba, a $12 million market cap company in Western Australia that has been trying to build a gas fired power plant. Eneabba is selling their coal properties to Carbon (for Carbon shares), and Carbon will develop a UCG syngas supply for Eneabba's power plant. Looks like Eneabba was having trouble getting gas for their plant - everything being siphoned off for the LNG industry.

Of course neither of these companies has the money to build the power plant.

Reading Eneabba's annual report - sounds like uncertainty about these new carbon emission regulations in Australia is wreaking havoc with energy and mining plans.
