Looks like some of the recent cold spells we've been seeing across the globe are due to an unusually quiet sun. Deepest solar minimum seen in close to a century. My guess is that CO2 continues to cause long term global warming, but we see fluctuations in temperature trends in part because of sunspot fluctuations. So I hope the global warming models out there take into account both CO2 increases as well as sunspot activity. Does anyone know if they do?
