Right now there is just not very much on the web that will be greatly enhanced by the increase in bandwidth of ADSL. I use a 56K modem (average throughput rate of around ~40K) and spend a lot more time reading than downloading data. Why because there is not a lot of content on the web that requires the increase in bandwidth. Sure, I would like to get data faster, maybe download rates 5 or so times faster than I currently get would be nice, but I would not pay much if anything more for the luxury of getting my web pages loaded in 5-15 seconds rather than 45sec to 1min. Now, if there was well defined content that properly integrated audio, video, 3D graphics, etc. I may pay $75 or so per month. I would only pay this because it would allow me to consolidate what I get from my satellite service. I agree with you that the Teleco industry knows more about building and managing networks than the entertainment industry, but my point is that they don't know, as you so aptly stated, about "Entertainment technology". The next step is going to take the launch of content that is going to make the consumer feel that they just gotta have it. This in turn will put the money in the coffers of the "Entertainment Technology" companies to build out the infrastructure necessary to deliver. Keep up the dialog. Thanks.
