My great-grandfather was the head of the Hatfield clan (a hillbilly who had gone to med school). He ended the Hatfield-McCoy feud and stated to his family that they'd never talk of the feud again. My grandmother had never heard of the feud until she went to college and was told of it by a friend. (Note: this is all true). I have no idea to what this relates, but it is still kinda interesting.
